Singapore Museum

Ok now we'll talk about the Museum we (2 of us). After the super boring bus ride, we went to the Ancient Greek exhibition that was on at the time. There were lots of marble statue/statuettes and some pottery/claywork. The Greek were apparently very open-minded as a lot of the marble figures were nude.

So we saw a lot of nice cute stuff that was supposedly ancient and rare. Seriously, it's just marble-lous or something, aint' it?

Then we went to the Singapore Historical Museum or something like that. It was just this walk through a lot of exhibits (99 of them) and they gave us this 'companion' thingy in which we could key in numbers and it would play pre-recorded explanations of the exhibit.


Ok, about change, we clearly saw how change led to progress. In the Greek civilisation, there were many things that were similar to our current modern-day society, for example, the form of government they had back then was very similar to that of Singapore, it was a democratic government. However, they seemed to interpret democracy differently, i.e. only free (non-slave) males could be citizens. A change in the interpretation led to progress, our current situation is so much better. Also, a change in technology led to the development of so many cool inventions, making our lives so much more fun and easier.

The Greek had not the convenience of electricity, but now times have changed and we have electricity. In agriculture, the Greeks did not have much technology, now we even have hydroponics. Labour wise, the Greeks had slaves, we don't. Well, the Greeks were the ones who invented the idea of democracy, so we do owe our current peace/government/whatever to them.

Reflecting on these, we can somewhat say that change has lead to progress, in a way or another.
